With this Part-Time Job Opportunity you will be working with children K through 5th grade. Next school year our After School Program will be in 22 locations throughout San Antonio. 17 schools in NISD, 2 schools in SWISD and 3 private locations. Starting pay is $7.50 hourly.
PT Position; Monday-Friday; between 2-6:30pm
Our After School Care Specialists and After School Care Substitutes will ensure the safety and well being of each child through quality child care and supervision. As well as ensure children experience a variety of fun and enrichment activities according to curriculum and lesson plans.
He/She will perform a variety of duties for this non-profit program. Here are some Essential Job Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with all children and with everyone involved in the program; parents, staff, school personnel, licensing and community representatives. Understand the values and policies of the program and organization and be able to explain them to these individuals.
Provide direct child care for children. Model appropriate direct child care through professional behavior and attitudes:
Implement program curriculum and lesson plans daily
Ensure all children are redirected and disciplined in a respectful, age appropriate manner
Conduct quality transitions resulting in proper group management
Prepare and serve snacks
Implementation of activities which will meet program standards and promote the goals of the program. Implement the center program for daily schedules, routines, and follow monthly lesson plans. Ensure a variety of enrichment activities and experiences, according to curriculum and lesson plans.
Assist in site set-up and daily activities prepared prior to childrens arrival.
Provide guidance and support to new hires.
Prepare and submit all required documents in a professionally written and timely manner to Site Manger to include:
Incident & illness reports
Behavior documentation
Timesheets & attendance tracking forms
Hotline communication messages
Attend all Site Staff meetings; ASK All Staff meetings and any others requested by upper management.
Substitute at all other ASK sites as requested by ASK Management, in order to maintain child staff ratios.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED & 18 years of age or older; both are Texas Department of Family and Protective Services licensing requirements.
No Child Care experience is required however, 6 months to 1 year experience in both child care and customer service is preferred.
Must have reliable transportation due to the nature of the job.
Must maintain acceptable attendance.
